i found the bouquets!

i've been reading the wedding plans community on livejournal for inspiration and i found megan, who not only had one of the best looking weddings i've ever seen, but she had the best bouquets ever! she made her flowers out of felt and antique buttons. i decided that i want her to make my bouquets and boutonnieres for the wedding.

the ebell of los angeles

tom and my dad and i went to see a potential venue today - the ebell of los angeles which is approximately 7 minutes from our apartment. it's a private club that was founded in 1894 by women/for women and has hosted the likes of amelia earhart and judy garland. it was a pretty awesome space:

i'm still toying with colors, but i'm definitely leaning towards orange and blue and brown with accents of red, purple and green. yeah, colorful!

i went and looked at wedding bands at lunch today.

engaged!

we're getting married! we're hoping it can be next march, but that'll depend on availability of vendors. it'll definitely be in los angeles. my dad was so sweet and gave tom my mom's engagement ring to give to me. it means A TON.
